Steve looked so serious that Tony had to laugh, a quick exhale with a wry, affectionate grin and a nod, of course, everything was a huge deal. Instead of arguing further, he accused, "You couldn't have brought a bite to eat?" Still holding Steve's wrist, Tony brought his hand up around the back of his neck and rubbed his thumb over Steve's chest, hoping to ease him into Tony's gentle proposal, "I have to get this stuff done. We can grab a burger, but that's it, I'm coming back." Even Tony didn't sound that convinced, though. He had just wasted his combative energy on a nonissue--sorry, big deal. He had to cut off any of Steve's arguments with a kiss to the corner of his mouth, pinching his chin with the promise of more if Steve would agree to disagree.
