Knowing that they couldn't trust each other hurt. That there was such a disconnect between them now hurt. That she couldn't even take comfort at his touch now was agonizing. Jessica felt like the wind had been knocked out her and she pulled back, eyes so welled with tears that she could barely see him anymore. There was so much she wanted to fix, so much she wanted to apologize for, but instead she softly cried, "I'm just tired. I'm just so fucking tired," as if that explained why she was so fucking defective.
Turning away, she covered her mouth to suppress what she was sure would be a full on sob, then managed to say, "You should go," and backed away again, brows furrowed sadly.
