There's more to the picture- Characters: Cassie and Danny Setting: H4H HQ and then out on the streets fightin' crime Content: Violence probably Summary: Kicking ass and taking names
When the door into the H4H headquarters opened, Cassie glanced up from the computer screen she'd been staring at with a bright smile that quickly became a frown. She'd been expecting the girls, triumphantly returned from their latest job, and then they'd go and get dinner or something. Instead it was Rand, the money, who always seemed to be hanging around here these days even though he pretty annoying and he didn't do much. Funding the business earned him the right, Cassie guessed, but he could go hang out somewhere else. At least they had new computers. She minimized her game of Candy Crush and leaned back in her chair with her eyebrows raised and a greeting of, "Oh, it's you." Just in case the look she shot him wasn't enough to get the picture that he was currently unwelcome.
The phones had been ringing off the hook tonight for various reasons, and Cassie had been enjoying these few moments of solitude. What she really wanted was to be out on the street with Misty and Colleen, but with their office manager off managing a much bigger organization someone had to fill his shoes. Which Cassie ought to have been better at given her former employment at SE, but she'd been terrible at that job and she wasn't great at this one. Anyway, no one would ever match Jasper for bureaucratic skill and organizational ability, so she didn't even try. She just answered the phones and took down messages, kept the coffee fresh, and piled whatever needing filing on a side table. In her downtime she did homework or surfed the internet. This was an arrangement that, so far, no one had complained about.
Now that peaceful downtime was ruined with the appearance of the Iron Fist and, in the hopes of sending him right back out that door she informed him, "They're not here. They're out on a job. Do you need something?"
