"Great turn out," Kitty said, taking a seat next to Wicked on the dock, wearing a summer dress over her swim suit. She pushed her sunglasses up the bridge of her nose and smiled, then took a bite from her funnel cake, drizzled with chocolate, strawberries, whipped cream, and sugar. It was okay, she could handle it. "Want some?" she offered, on second thought, it might be best to split it. Given that past several days, the summer festival seemed to be a welcome distraction. Kitty knew how it had especially impacted her friend and was there for her, ready to help in any way she could without being overbearing. Like now, she knew it wouldn't have done any good to press the issue. Kitty wrapped an arm around Wicked's waist and stared out at the lake, and all the kids splashing around in it. This was a good idea. Really good.
