This wasn't the time to wonder why the fuck that had just happened, Nick could only be grateful that Iron Man was at least momentarily out of the picture. Everything seemed to be falling into place and, as horrible as the conclusion would be, each turn of good luck only reinforced for him that this was supposed to happen.
