"Your-" he began, but didn't have to finish because Bruce turned around and figured it out. He accepted the beer with a nod of thanks and turned his gaze to the new brats. Without saying anything he reached out for the tongs, prepared to take hot dog duty so that Bruce could keep an eye on that immaculate brisket. Happy didn't mind helping out, and it gave him something to do when Bruce gave his slightly awkward congratulations. Poor dude had missed out on so much. He nodded and smiled, "Thanks. Baby's getting to be more of a kid every day. He's almost three." Happy could hardly believe that, seemed like just yesterday Anthony had been born. Soon he'd be starting school and before you knew it graduating and then college and pretty much all kinds of things Happy was too afraid to think about just now but which would be here sooner rather than later.
