Loki was not Tony's primary concern. Loki was a nagging irritation, just like Hammer, who eventually would slither back into the oozing pit he came from when he didn't get exactly what he wanted. Thor was Tony's friend and didn't deserve to be casually declared collateral damage because Hammer couldn't be bothered to control the situation. Jess was Tony's friend and didn't deserve to suffer the same bullshit she clawed her way out of. Hammer could use whatever language helped him sleep at night, but they both knew nobody involved in this farce was 'co-operating', walking ego Loki least of all.
"Ever consider leaving it for the adults to deal with?" Iron Man proposed acidly. "Ever think that, maybe, the guys who have been doing this for years might think to be able to take Loki out if they had the free will?" Thor, Spider-Woman and Iron Man probably had the experience between them to handle this, in the strange and unprecedented case where the rest of the known Avengers were queerly indisposed as though it didn't occur to anybody tying them in red tape that it would ever be a time sensitive, world ending kind of issue. Maybe because they'd never seen the world end before and didn't fully understand the gravity of it, because the Avengers enjoyed full mobility. Tony was going to be stuck in that unclosed loop of poor programming until Hammer was six feet under, he didn't need to dwell on it again; Iron Man pressed a fist to his helmet like he could rub the tension from his brow through the metal.
