Tony hit him like a ton of bricks, knocking the wind out of him that he struggled to regain in his panic; there was a crunch and hiss, pressure release that would explain the sharp pain in his chest as the armor impacted, but they were falling, and Pepper was still up there-- Iron Man and Tony slammed into the ground, cracking the pavement and making Iron Man's head ring, none of these problems solved in his struggle to do all of them at once. Tony didn't appear to be so troubled, though, picking himself up easily and tugging his clothes straight with a pat that dislodged a cloud of dust. "I did you a favour," was all he had to say to make Iron Man throw up both hands, palms glowing and ready to send Tony sailing back up the length they had fallen. Tony was fast, though, and snatched both wrists, squeezing so hard he crushed the metal in his bare hands and sending the blast of energy harmlessly up into the night sky.
