Rushing blindly into the fray didn't always work for Tony-- though that may have been the law of averages. In this case, he knew planting the idea would go a long way and perhaps his work here was done; the native Tony would return to that blush and coy smile and find it as irresistible as any man should. Much like this Tony couldn't resist catching Pepper around the waist, warm hands holding her close to return the kiss that could have been friendly if it didn't linger so long.
"Door's always open," he offered as he didn't quite pull away, last chance for Pepper to change her mind with Tony's hand on her hip and gaze on her lips. The pursuit wasn't nearly so much fun at home. Maybe he could propose a game to his wife; one where she didn't leave him sleeping on his own and trying to formulate an apology for a mystery offense. Just this part, short and sweet.
