It wasn't clear yet if this Pepper would take the news of Tony's messing around with time travel the same as the Pepper he knew, but either way it would be in poor taste. There were better ways to get out of meetings, like just not showing up and then sending Pepper gifts for the clean-up. So Tony had to nod, grimacing at the truth of her statement, and tried to arrange himself more confidently again before Pepper had him surging up onto the edge of the couch. "That's just it," he said while he still bounced on the cushion, "I don't think it's a when, so to speak. I think it's a parallel timeline that split off somewhere but has been running concurrently ever since." Which clearly excited him, possibly a little sexually, but Tony realized after he was done that this wasn't a welcome response just yet-- not when the woman's husband was dimensionally compromised. Tony held up his hands to keep her still and calm, which never really worked, and said, "I know how to fix it."
