Days? Okay, that wasn't a surprise so much as a shock to Tony's system that hadn't yet quite accepted that he was cut off from his universe. This was still S.H.I.E.L.D., it was still populated by well-dressed monkeys who couldn't be trusted to handle anything in a cohesive or timely manner, even if they did manage to cobble together a testy special propulsion engine. Tony had to calmly outline his reassurances again-- the other Tony was there, not a whole lot seemed different, he wasn't even an Avenger and Nick was on the lam and if there even was anyone to miss him, he was more than sure they could make concessions for a 'couple days'.
"Yeah, okay, listen," Tony started and slung his hands in his pockets before he started gesturing too wildly. A year, on the other hand, sounded like a little too much of a vacation from reality to Tony. That was how bad habits started. "You're not going to want to make this wait. I'm pretty sure there won't be any major dimensional compromise, but it's not something I would want to test," he outlined, and a hand escaped anyway to lay flat between them to ensure Coulson he was playing this straight and yes, everything that just went unsaid should absolutely be taken seriously.
