Woop Woop! Dats the sound of a ... D-d-dragon?! Characters: Lots of Loki's and OTA! (multiple threading encouraged!) Setting: New York - Tuesday Afternoon Content: Mayhem! There will be violence. Summary: Loki is bored and he's taking it out on New York.
It was your typical New York day: loud, busy and rushed. Lunch hour probably, given the rush. The sun was high in the sky and cast beautiful refractions into the streets from the glass in the windows. It was wonderful. At least Loki thought so. From his vantage point on the top of one of the buildings overlooking Broad Street, he contemplated the crowds of people pushing and shoving their way to get to their destinations. This city is nothing like Asgard with its golden halls and magnificent scenes. No, this... this is better. A shining silver beacon of industry and business. It managed to tread the fine line between intelligent life and barbaric cave men.
In some ways the humans have it right, they look after number one and are completely selfish in their goals. They have no worries of the universe or the future, because their lives are so pathetically short. These... ants are completely unaware of how insignificant their little problems are in the grand scheme. Loki suspected they didn't care much either. An inelegant snort emits from the Gods nose, startling a few pigeons on the rooftop he was perched on. After a few short moments the long bodied God stood, stretching his arms above his head and listening to the satisfying popping of vertebrae.
"Let the fun begin!" He murmured excitedly to himself, a sadistic grin marring his handsome features. For all his lyrical thoughts on the mortals, he only had one purpose for today and that was carnage.
Chaos would reign.
The build up was gradual, slowly but surely over the course of twenty minutes, a few sharp magic explosions took out the bridges, tunnels and exits to the city. Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! The island rumbled with the impact. The Trickster feasted his eyes and ears on the screaming reactions of the mortals below and felt maddened laughter bubble in his chest. Hammer would be furious, but Loki didn't care. Who would be the villain while the villains were all masquerading as heroes? Loki felt obligated, it was his calling as an agent of chaos to restore balance to this dreary peace that had fallen upon America.
Play time was over.
After a few short beats of silence a magnanimous roar pierced the air, like something out of a movie. Then, over the horizon a canon blaze of flame connected with one of the buildings, the impact like an explosion caused the building in question to crumble with the force. The explosion sends debris rocketing to the ground, crushing cars and scattering the crowds who flee for cover in the buildings near by. The feeling was heady, just like it had been when he'd try to destroy Jotunheimr; just as it had when he'd brought chaos down upon the Avengers. Power. The ability to make people fear you, from the sheer strength of your power, was intoxicating.
Mortals would fear Loki.
Following its fiery trail, the dragon flew over head, its huge size casting a shadow over a good portion of the street. More screams answer its passing. The dragon roared again in reply. The scream of sirens and muffled shouts of people trying to rally, to take charge, met Loki's ears and he twisted his fingers viciously. The action made the beast turn its gaze upon its master, gleaming emerald eyes looking almost hungry for instruction. Loki crooked his long pale finger and the beast comes forward. The Dragon, Glaurung is her name, surges forward and soars, its impressive wingspan stretching out and sheering a chunk out of a nearby building before it lands on the building next to Loki. An impressive animal, wrought from Loki's own imagination, with black scales and a horned head not unlike his own helm. She was roughly the size of an earthly white wale, though bigger given her wings and tail, which makes her dainty perch on the rooftop look almost comical. Glaurung had been a name Loki had chosen in a moment of whimsy, it meant "The Deciever" which he felt was appropriate, given that this was all a ruse to lure out his pray.
Unlike his not-brother, Loki was a meticulous planner; this little episode had spent weeks in planning, though Loki intended to act as if it had been spontaneous. His intent was simple and three fold: One, he was bored. Two, he wanted to. And three, his plan was to lure out any of the Avengers. Some of the so called 'heroes' would not be able to resist such a catastrophe and as such it was a perfect opportunity to kill a few of them. The God multiplies himself into four, all of them perfect smirking copies of himself. Without pause, each copy takes off in its own direction, leaving the original Loki on the roof top. Loki turned to his new pet and inclined his head, Glaurung mimicked this and extended her long neck out to him. The God clambered up and seated himself just behind the base of her neck, where the large horns began and allowed for something to hold onto.
The impressive pair launched themselves into the air and fire filled the sky.
(This is as close a picture I could find of what I wanted Glaurung to look like.)
