Characters: Natasha Romanoff, Jasper Sitwell and Hank McCoy. Setting: New York City (anywhere the wind takes Hank) Content: Work Safe with gratuitous amounts of sarcasm and bad code words. Summary: Hammer has the Black Widow doing things bordering on the mundane, such as following some of whom the world might consider to be heroes.
Natasha Romanoff was a woman of many skills, as such spying on people whom she would consider to be allies was nothing new. Still it felt incredibly odd to be spying on Hank McCoy of all people. S.H.I.E.L.D had kept loose tabs on the man because of his research, Romanoff failed to see the significance of following him now. Still with resignation she put it down to Hammer being a paranoid idiot; he had specifically asked her to keep an eye on some of 'the loose threads that were currently fraying from the S.H.I.E.L.D tapestry'. It was hardly surprising that most people were trying to withdraw themselves from S.H.I.E.L.D's line of sight, what with the talk of 'new avengers' whom nobody seem to have the faintest clue about.
The red head walked into the control room of the S.H.I.E.L.D base she was stationed at in down town New York and sighed. It was an unnecessary action, but she felt the need to convey her frustrations in some form, lest she punch something expensive. She pushed the comms piece into her ear, a flesh coloured device about the size of tic tac, it felt strange in her ear as it blocked out the noise of the room. After a moment the device adjusted and filtered through the background noise, causing her to relax a little she prided herself on powers of observation and the thought of having her hearing incapacitated annoyed. Obviously this was not her first time wearing an earpiece, but the inconvenience never ceased to annoy her.
As far as clothing went, she had gone for casual, if she was tailing someone around the streets of New York or wherever he decided to go, it would be best to maintain a low profile. Practicality was always a must, however that never seemed to stop the assassin, she could take down a target in a ball gown if need be.Still, Today she wore a loose fitting beige jumper with black skinny jeans and calf high boots with a slight heal. Her hair was up in a messy bun and she was wearing a pair of fake thick rimmed black glasses. To top it all off she wore a chunky brown scarf and had a leather messenger bag. Inside her bag she kept a pencil case, which cunningly concealed all the tools normally kept in her utility belt, along with some student-eque books to use as props. The entire ensemble felt gaudy and stupid, but she pulled off a rather convincing hipster for someone as old as she was. She hadn't gone for her normal classy attire, which drew too much attention, still that didn't stop her from having several knives hidden in various areas of her outfit (including several tucked in her hair). One could never be too careful.
Touching her finger to her ear she activated the comm. "Ready to go when you are." She announced to Jasper Sitwell, her control for this particular 'mission'.
