It wasn't clear whether the tactic was effective or just distracting; this would have been a better experiment when Tony was in a position to get some participant feedback. He couldn't limit himself to thinking so narrowly, though. Tony did know of one thing that seemed to get a rise out of Steve on the mats without fail.
"Anything interesting happen last night?" he prompted, dedicated enough to Steve's challenge (whatever he said, he did mean right now, and even if he didn't Tony could certainly be still whenever he wanted to) to not be entirely irritated with Steve's inability to read into the question himself. Tony had to focus that energy on the gold armor that poured from the ports hidden under his clothes to peak coyly under the hem of his shirt. "Eat anything different, construction detours, pick up a cute stranger..." he suggested helpfully.
