You can't trust people Characters: Kurt Wagner, Pietro Lehnsherr Setting: X Mansion Content: Pietro Summary: Pietro wants a job, and the X-Men seem like like hiring ex-Brotherhood.
He'd gotten Wicked to set up the appointment, so they were expecting him this time around, but it did little to ease Pietro's nerves as he waited. It would have been so much easier to just talk to Charles. But it wasn't him he needed to prove himself to. If he was going to work here he needed to make sure he and the others could all manage to behave themselves, and none of them had such a good history with that. A lot of the blame probably rested on Pietro with that, he could be antagonistic, but he had so many mixed feeling about the X-Men. They'd been his enemies. They'd been the people who took Uncle Charles away, and the people who thought they had more right to call him their friend than Pietro ever would. They forgot that this had been one of his first homes, and that Charles had been part of his life for as long as Pietro could remember. Pietro wasn't his father, even if he looked like him, and he hadn't been part of the Brotherhood (...willingly) for years. He could be trusted.
He just had to hold his tongue long enough to convince the fuzzy x-brat of that.
