Jan tried not to be too worried. It wasn't the first time she'd been blown off, and the both of them had jobs that caused them to be called away with out notice; not to mention the mess Halloween had been. But as they days slipped by without any communication or replies to her texts the worry had crept up. Had he dumped her? Or was he lying in a ditch somewhere, in which she shouldn't be mad at him, she should be getting him help- but then S.H.I.E.L.D. would have reported him missing, wouldn't they? It had all jumbled about and and suddenly, a text.
Not dead in a ditch.
The other remained to be seen.
When she opened the door she was fully prepared to angry, or even indifferent, she'd practiced even, he'd ignored her entirely for more than two weeks- but when she opened the door it was relief that won out, and she smiled despite herself, hugging him tightly before he could protest.
"Seriously, a heads up text, anything, I thought you were dead."
