"Oh." This time she said it out loud and inside the little part of her that had it guessed was crowing its triumph at being right. The rest of her didn't know what to think. At that very second she felt numb and her expression was blank surprise. Wanda knew how she would have reacted just ten years ago, and it wouldn't have been nice, but she wasn't that person anymore. She hadn't been for a long time and maybe that was a good thing. What she expected was for this to hurt, to feel like abandonment or betrayal but, lo and behold, it didn't. Honestly, it didn't, and that was some kind of epiphany.
Wanda broke into a smile and pulled him into her arms for a hug. "Of course I approve," she said against his shoulder but when she'd moved back her smile had faltered just a little, her apprehension creeping back. She took him by the hands and stared up into his his, her gaze searching. "As long as you're completely sure it's what you want, darling, then I am absolutely behind it."
