characters: Colleen and Wanda! And later, Misssty.
setting: New York City, evening-ish.
content: Nothing questionable.
summary: Colleen and Wanda meet through some crime-fighting. Little do they know, they've got more than a couple of silly thugs on their hands.
It probably would have been nice to curl up on the couch and finish that last pint of Cherry Garcia, but tracking down a criminal society wasn't a bad way to spend a Friday night. Guised in all black, Colleen glided expertly across utility pole wires until reaching an intersection, where she jumped and flipped onto the closest building below. Colleen was close. At least she hoped. There was always the chance that she'd gotten a bad lead, this group had been a hard one to pin, but she had a pretty good feeling. Colleen was also what one would call an optimist. Skimming the rooftops, she ended up at the factory buildings neighboring the harbor, and moved briskly from shadow to shadow, dodging the pink and orange rays of the sunset. Colleen then heard a collective sound of voices and followed them, dropping low when she came upon the group target. Bingo.
Colleen watched. Typical illegal dealings. She maneuvered across the pavement and, thinking she'd find a better vantage point, jumped to lower grounds and landed on her feet with an impressive grace. Unfortunately, grace didn't keep her invisible. Colleen threw her hands up in feigned surrender at the black-suited thugs who'd formed a crescent around her and pointed their weapons. The Zorro masks were a nice touch. Brows raised, Colleen made a gliding glance, lips pursed. "Invitation only?" A collective yell cut through the beat of silence as the swarm simultaneously moved in on her. She would take their hostility as a yes. Colleen brought her blade into view and took out the first round of thugs with ease, and then went onto the next. Those battle cries gradually turned into pained ones, but the fight was far from over. These ones did not like to stay down.
