Neither of them were going to die today, for all that this place was doing its damnedest to kill them. Not if Wanda could help it. Her eyes remained squeezed shut throughout their ascent, her cheek against the RT in the Iron Man's chest and her arms around the armor at his neck in a vice grip. Her barrier was pummeled and battered and she kept her focus on retaining it through the barrage of debris. Right about the moment she was sure there wasn't much more her shield could withstand was the moment it was over and they were clear above the fallen death trap and miles of sand far below in the cool darkness. When she opened her eyes, they were falling and then, in a flash of red light, they weren't; they were simply gone.
When the pair blinked into existence again it was several hundred feet away from the chasm where the pyramid had been only moments before and they hovered just above a high sand dune. The umbrella of Wanda's energy expanded into a bubble around them that absorbed the brunt of the impact as gravity took over and then shattered, her energy spent. Wanda laid herself out on the sand on her back and put her face towards the tinge of dawn creeping into the sky.
They were alive. They were alive and- "You've still go it?" she asked, turning her face back to Iron Man. The question wasn't really necessary because she could feel the gemstone nearby now that her powers had ebbed away, the day saved, to curl up in exhaustion and lie dormant for god knew how long (exactly what she wanted to do herself). Their hard earned and unwanted prize wasn't calling to her or hurting her anymore, it just was. An energy humming quietly somewhere in the back of her head, uneasy but- for the moment- harmless.
