Wanda winced the moment Tony opened his mouth to interrupt the Egyptian god of the Dead; she knew whatever came out couldn't be good. Of course he was perfectly accommodating with a spectacular display of cheekiness reserved for maybe any other part of life but this. Well, she knew Tony was the kind of guy who could be glib at his own funeral which was exactly what this boiled down to so she couldn't really fault him for being him. Now that the proverbial ice was not only broken but hammered through she took a few steps forward with her gaze not on Anubis or his hawk headed companion (Thoth, she thought) but on the monster behind them, the soul eater.
"I've come to be judged?" she offered, tentative, then squared her shoulders and tried again with more conviction. "I've said the prayers." Mostly. "I've come to be judged." Even though they weren't dead, even if this couldn't be real. The Jackal and the Hawk exchanged a look before Anubis finally got his opportunity to speak. "We cannot weigh your soul, Wanda Maximoff, it is fragmented. Someone has taken a part away."
"Oh." That was news. Maybe they were lying because what did that even mean? No, she knew what it meant and she thought about the occult things she'd dabbled in before and the man who'd taught them to her. That might have had something to do with this fragment business. If she ever saw him again she'd have to demand that back, please and thank you.
"We will weigh your heart, instead, Thoth suggested and Wanda gaped at him. What she said next surprised even her, it just sort of came out before she could thin about. "That old thing? You don't want that honey, it's been broken too many times," she quipped. God, Tony was obviously rubbing off on her or maybe this was just too ludicrous to take, even for the Scarlet Witch. She didn't want to be here, she knew what she was supposed to be doing but she didn't want to be doing it. They were alive, not dead, they weren't ready for this judgement even if it meant moving further. And, truth be told, she didn't honestly believe either of them would make it to the other side, not with their pasts and those scales.
"Anthony Stark," Anubis turned his attention to Iron Man. "Will you be judged?"
