She nodded understanding. Shit was going to hit the fan, again. But this time she wasn't sticking around. Not for a lack of loyalty. Nick Fury had given her a life that she desperately needed at that point in her life. And she was sure it was a similar case for most of them. She was forever in his debt for not breaking her arm that summer night when she tried to pick pocket him on the street. When he could have put her right back on the streets when she screwed up in Genosha he gave her the opportunity to work with people she considered a family of sort. She wasn't just staying because she had already signed a lease and that she couldn't go for god knows how long sexually frustrated. Leaving now meant giving up on something she hadn't really given a chance yet. While the Caterpillars had been a kind of family for her, things in New York had the potential of becoming a real family.
Her mind wandered back to the museum and what Nick said, then gave an apologetic look to Daisy.
"You said this was the life we chose right?" She looked around at her teammates. She dug around in her purse and put her S.H.I.E.L.D ID on the coffee table. "I'm sorry but when I chose...I didn't realize I'd have something to stay for."
