Cassie might have been surprised, but Tony must have seen her coming because he didn't flinch at her interjection but kept staring thoughtfully. If Steve was up there, he probably heard that, too, and the surprise was already blown; not so much 'safe' to go up as Cassie put it, but 'might as well'. Except-- why was she here? "Do I know you?" Tony suddenly rounded on her, looking like he might just call his bodyguard if this strange woman didn't stop harassing him before his grin broke through. "Because, and I know my long-term memory gets a little fuzzy but, I don't think I've seen you before," he continued anyway as he rocked back from his watchful vigil and meandered closer to Cassie. He had been prepared to be completely fucking pissed when she finally got to the safety of the helicarrier and her next brilliant move had been to sneak off of a flying city into the festering core of New York and shack up in the Empire State with a known hormonal boy, but that had panned out surprisingly well for her and she bought herself a temporary pass. On the other hand, she didn't really have a good excuse for couch-surfing when Tony thought it was pretty clear he was generally prepared to welcome her into his house, but fine, her impromptu adventure had introduced her to independence from his luxuries and to a teenager that was a very romantic lifestyle. She would get over it. Even Tony had a phase, all very desperate and cold and not a good look in retrospect. Cassie could have put in an appearance any goddamn time, though, so he kind of wanted to hear it from her.
