The awkward man's joke and pantomime earned him a gaze and grin that grew more and more incredulous with every gesture he made. By the time he finished she was actually gaping at him. "Does that one work often?" she got out right before she lost all composure and sultry went right out the door. Wanda sat laughing until her sides started to hurt and she had to lay back against the pillows, trying to stifle her giggles and shaking her head in apology. This was probably the most cathartic thing that could have happened to her because when her laughter died and she wiped at the corner of her eyes she felt good for the first time in a very long time. Everything was going to be okay, laughter could do that for you. But this poor poor man was rather hopeless and Wanda finally got enough breath to say her apology aloud.
"I'm so sorry," she began but then- The Hulk- and she had to clap her hands over her mouth again to cover a snort. A few more breaths and she added, "Thank you though, I needed that. Honestly. Has anyone ever told you you're kind of-" Wanda paused again and waved her fingers, searching for the word. "Adorable?" That was a good one, a kind way of telling him he was incredibly awkward. Actually, he wasn't bad to look at either, if he could harness his charming artlessness he'd be a force to be reckoned with with the ladies. Or the fellas, she actually couldn't tell yet. It was possible that he knew exactly what he was doing but she didn't think so, no one could put on a passable pick-up facade while wearing a hospital gown. It was impossible.
