The burst of energy tore right into Calvin and sent him reeling back into the air disoriented. Bits of flesh all over his body were ripped apart by the sheer raw force of Magneto’s energy. But, It was strange. He just didn’t seem to care. The whilwind of combat was starting to get to his mind and Rankin found himself past the state of worrying. All he could think about right then was flying up and clawing that self important look right off Magneto’s face. You know what? Screw the plan. That’s exactly what he was going to to do. Rankin came for Mags again, this last third time. He ignored the energy blasts and used Magneto’s power to propel himself ever forward. By the time he actually reached his foe, his body was shaking with fury and exhaustion. Cal was torn nearly apart by the energy wielded against him, but again none of it mattered. All Calvin was concerned with was revenge as he reached up to grip Magneto by the head. This was where the game changed. With his grip tight against Erik’s forehead, Calvin activated his ice powers and started icing over Magneto’s entire body.
With that done, he let go at last and watched the self proclaimed lord of mutantkind fall back into the sea. He hovered there for second and stared down silently. God, but it was so quiet now. Magneto was just floating along the sea. All Mimic could think about just then was what came next? What new trick would he have to fight against such an unforgiving opponent? Each time he clashed with Magneto he found himself trying harder and harder. God, was this another lesson? Was he just being tested again like in the old days? The exhaustion of the battle on his body made his mind to start to blur and he felt like he might just fall down and join him.
