Kate was more of a jogging kind of girl in the morning. At least she was before now. Here, though, at the Raft, there was some consistency, which meant that Kate could start a new routine if she wanted to, if that was something she honestly missed. She did, and therefore picked up jogging again, going in the mornings and afternoons...or nights. So maybe it wasn't routine per se, but it was something familiar and an escape when she wanted a break from the gloomy world around her. Running around had never been so exhilarating.
In sweats and an old shirt, Kate worked on her upteenth lap around the gym, earphones in her ears and music blasting, though she had enough focus in her to block that out all together, atop of everything else. She pushed herself for one more lap until she slowed down and went off track, over to the wall where she caught her breath and wiped the sweat from her face. The group that was meditating hadn't gone unnoticed, and she had made a conscious effort to keep from being a distraction. The gym was pretty big, though, so Kate wasn't too concerned about it.
Kneeling down, she tied her shoe, watching them; well, watching the woman leading them, mostly. Earlier on, when Kate first saw her, she could swear she recognized her from somewhere and since then had been trying to place her finger on it. No luck yet, and she shook her head, standing up to walk a lap or two before moving on to something else. It wasn't until the last lap that she stopped, looked over, and ventured to approach. A little meditation couldn't hurt. "Hey..." she said a little cautiously. "Is it too late to join?"
