Tony had just chanced a smile at Steve's surprise, and success, sure that he wouldn't jinx it with a little pride, when Wanda appeared. Jinxed. That couldn't have been good news and Tony instantly reached for Anthony again to take him back protectively, sitting up straight on the edge of the bed and watching Wanda like he could read on her what the crisis was before she had to tell them. Only she smiled, and it didn't look happy, but Tony had no idea what that was supposed to mean. Perhaps a bittersweet victory in another battle she hadn't bothered to tell them about.
Again, he looked to Steve for support, not sure how to deal with this situation-- besides, it was his room, he probably should make the decisions. If it was Tony's, that little smile would do nothing for her and she'd get an unequivocal 'no', whatever pressing matter that brought her there being just as potent outside his door as in. She had fucked up, and it wasn't even new behaviour so Tony wasn't sure why he was so goddamn disappointed, but he was tired of putting up with it just for Wanda to pull the same stunt again. He was done, and he had shown her as much since she returned from Genosha. But Steve's tack had been a little softer than Tony's, and Tony could already see that in Steve's face. "Yeap," Tony answered for him, not a little bitterly, taking Anthony back against his chest as he drew back against the wall to give them all the space they needed.
