There really wasn't anything for it now but to head upwards and Happy gave a terse nod at Alex to second Spider-woman's assessment before he bypassed the decapitated corpse (trying his hardest not to look down at it) and went for the stairs again. He immediately had to spin on his heels and press himself flat against the wall so he'd miss being bitten by the incoming zombies and stunned by Jessica's venom blasts. He grabbed Alex by the collar and dragged him back, too, shielding the kid with his own body until it was safe to move on past more of the creatures and up the stairs.
They climbed up several flights until a howl below forced them out of the stairwell and onto the landing of another floor while Happy tried to improvise them another way up that didn't leave them in the path of the hungry undead. "You all right?" he panted at the kid, clutching at his own side and trying to catch his breath as he stared out the window and mulled over his options. Happy's mind went suddenly blank as he spotted a familiar man falling at top speed outside the window. He wasn't even sure he'd actually seen that and turned, gaping, to Alex for confirmation. "Was that...?"
