Crazy or not, Wanda couldn't think of any other solution at all and Clint was supposed to be the leader, the one with the ideas, so the edge in his voice made her momentarily defensive. "No," she snapped back and immediately held up a hand in apology. Only minutes before she'd thought he'd looked lost, surely this wasn't any easier on him than it was on her. Especially because he was their leader and abandoning California was a hard decision.
When she spoke again her tone was softer, apologetic. "I can't promise I wouldn't get us into the middle of a bunch of zombies again. It's not something I'd want to risk, would you?" She couldn't tell him that she still hadn't completely recovered, either, from all the energy she'd spent keeping a barrier over the whole of that evacuation center. Her powers were stronger than they'd been a few weeks before, but she wasn't willing to get them stranded somewhere, either. She was so afraid of so many things.
"Clint-" she reached out and took his arm to stop him from leaving. "I'm so terrified." Wanda had to tell someone and it might was well be Clint. They didn’t always get along, but he’d always backed her up in battle when it mattered. "Are you?"
