Kate was going to interpret that as 'Gee, Kate, now that you mention it, it's about that time to get in touch again'. Since she didn't have her own teammates to check up on, Barton was the next best thing. Her next question then, was 'Can I talk to him?', which, in retrospect, would have been even more efficient as long as Tony didn't give her some ambiguous response to work through first. The question was there, and Tony would've heard it if her mouth wasn't full of noodles and he hadn't beat her to the punch. As if surprised, Kate jerked her head back, blinking. "Well, yeah, I wanna go see him," she smiled, rubbing her brow. It would be a lot more reassuring than just a phone call, not that she wouldn't still appreciate the latter. "I would if I could, anyway." In retrospect, she should have gone to Malibu to see Barton when the weather was just right and the world wasn't spiraling downwards. Kate shook her head and sighed. "Why?" she nearly laughed. "Planning on flying out there?"
