Though Tony had been heralded as an expert in a whole lot of things, some he was proud of and a lot he shouldn't have been, he really should have been acknowledged with some kind of degree in Guilty Conscience. It manifested itself, Tony's extensive findings would prove, in moments such as these when Ben should have been thanking Iron Man for the timely rescue, perhaps admiring Tony's work and expressing some kind of fawning devotion (how did that never happen?), instead of bringing up some surely slanderous article. Right, absolutely nothing to do with it. Tony couldn't even recall whatever the hell the guy was talking about, but he shot Ben a sidelong look for having so little integrity and decided it was about time to freeze him out.
"Yeah, I lied. I can do that, I'm older than you," he said to Noriko, hands up to stop any protests at least long enough for him to pass her off to Steve. He liked kids, he'd enjoy the opportunity to listen to her whine. "I'm sure whatever you need can wait. I haven't had my nails done, either, I get it, it's excruciating, please go inside." That was directed to both of them, sort of, more of a vague wave that could have encompassed Ben if he interpreted it that way. He could go hang out with Steve, too. Tony was sure his articles about Captain America were absolutely glowing.
