Across the street from the Daily Bugle offices, shabby looking when the lights of New York City still shone on it and looking like ground zero of the apocalypse now that they had gone dark, Iron Man crouched in the trash at the mouth of an alley and cut his power to dim his own signal. To Noriko he waved to get her to follow suit and stay behind him and hopefully watch his back while he scanned the area. High above them, the top floor of the building was lit up like a beacon in the dark sky. Hard to miss, if anyone had cared to look. On the ground floor, though, milling around the doors like they knew there was a fresh meal inside, several of the infected lumbered and groaned hungrily or slapped on the glass to be let in.
Turning slowly, Iron Man bowed his head close to Noriko's to explain, "We're going to fly up." The light was already on to attract the feeding frenzy, a little flare couldn't make it too much worse. Besides, they would be in and out in a flash, much faster than the zombies could amble, it would work out. He opened his arms to take Noriko into a tight hug before standing and letting his power surge on again, the sudden light catching the eye of a few of the hungry bodies at the Bugle's doors. Their heads snapped around and one let out a roar like a battle cry before the whole pack charged. By then, Iron Man was in the air, shooting straight up to gain the most distance as quickly as he could before angling toward the roof of the Daily Bugle.
