Tony hadn't even contacted him, but there Cap was, waiting for pick-up. He wouldn't have thought about it, that ingrained teammate intuition was something he took for granted anymore, but he still hadn't spoken to Steve one-on-one since before the mission to Genosha. Hadn't even occupied the same city block without being locked safely behind the Iron Man armor. But there Cap was.
Iron Man didn't land, but unceremoniously plucked Captain America from the roof and immediately redirected, back towards the helicarrier. "Sitrep, Constellation," still repeated rhythmically, quietly in one ear, with no response. All hands on deck. Hopefully they weren't shooting at Magneto, like morons. Or removing the twins from the ship. The second he knew they were off board and out of the destruction zone, Magneto would squeeze the helicarrier like he could juice it and drop the bled husk into the Bay.
And hopefully Magneto hadn't figured his way around Iron Man's magnetism field, or Tony was going to be the one to test the waters.
