Where in the timeline did she screw up to deserve that? Kate was starting to think that maybe she was better off talking to the receptionist lady after all; as far as she was concerned, she was weird, but Tony was being an uneasy kind of weird and she'd done absolutely nothing to make him accusatory. The shift in her demeanor shifted, more into the realm of defensiveness, as she crossed her arms tightly across and followed Tony with her eyes fixed in a sidelong stare of mild aggravation.
“A little over a week ago.” Kate shrugged. That wasn’t anything unusual, they could go days without talking and think nothing of it. But the way Tony was acting from the very beginning, she was starting to get the feeling that maybe she change that. It was growing increasing obvious that something was off. “I called more recently, but...” Kate held up a hand to hold off his response and slowed down in pace. “Why is that important?” There was no way she was taking another step further until she had a clear idea of where this was heading.
Hand still up in the air, she wet her lips and gingerly asked, “Is she missing?”
