"Do they?" he asked rhetorically with a raised eyebrow, clearly disbelieving. If that were true then there'd be a lot less damage in the city and a lot of other photags getting the kind of shots this kid always managed. Modesty was a great virtue and all and probably really helpful in all kinds of situations but if Parker wanted to get anywhere in this business he needed to maybe cut back on the modesty and embrace his instincts a little more. He'd never get noticed if he hung back and kept things to himself. On the other hand, Ben understood the importance of anonymous sources- maybe the kid had a cape friend somewhere tipping him off when things were going down. With good sources and good instincts Parker could make a fine newsman or whatever it was he wanted to do with his life that being a freelance photographer at a rag like the Bugle was a stepping stone to.
"What are you doing wasting your time here, Parker?" he asked, curious now. "I mean, if you've figured out these patterns and you've got that habit of being in the right place at the right time. Bet there's loads of other papers that wouldn't mind your photos."
