She was strong enough to make Tony stumble, just a little bit, catching himself with hands clenched into fists and just the start of a sneer before he smoothed it away. As much as he didn't appreciate her breaking bones on his watch, he really didn't appreciate that she thought she could keep playing with him afterward.
In his aggravation, she was offered no response, just Tony climbing into the helicopter after her and sitting coldly silent. The agent she had abused sat across from her, eyes down, holding his arm and shivering with the pain of it the whole way up. He was quickly escorted away as soon as they landed on the helicarrier, other agents demanding explanations of Tony-- once again, deja vu-- and him just demanding where the Director was.
"Director Fury isn't on board, now tell me what you think authorizes--" "What do you mean not on board? He was just here. I was just here," Tony interrupted again, getting more pissed by the second. "He's off duty. Some of us go home, Stark. You should, too," the woman suggested icily. She was left to puzzle over his easy acceptance: "Good idea." Just as the pilot was puzzling over him turning on his heel and twisting a finger in the air to indicate take-off again. "Fury's place, you know it?" Tony asked, shouting over the noise.
