Some equilibrium had been restored to the world as Happy stepped back to let Jade prattle on at Tony about a lot of crap that might get him to sleep with her but wouldn't get her any of his wealth or long term affection. This was the way it was supposed to be- Tony was the one the ladies wanted- and for the first time maybe ever Happy actually didn't mind a bit. He had his wife upstairs, after all, and that kid whose picture was in his wallet meant the world to him. More than a hundred air headed gold diggers in short skirts handing out empty compliments.
He turned his attention to the car, looking over the detailing and making sure there weren't any spots he'd missed when he was waxing it a few hours earlier. Happy went around to the other side to inspect the doors and glanced up just in time to see one of his least favorite people in the world look at the car and then start striding purposefully towards it. Happy had nothing especially personal against Justin Hammer, the guy was just Justin Hammer, Tony's nemesis and not a particularly endearing guy when you understood what a phony he really was behind all that charm he was always trying to force feed everyone.
Coming back around the car, Happy interrupted Jade in mid sentence to mutter to Tony, "Incoming" just as Hammer rounded the display and caught sight of them. Too late to duck out.
