A day long remembered..
Characters: Spidey, Green Goblin, ota
Setting: New York City/Brooklyn bridge
Content: Pumpkin bombs?
Summary: A ghostly version of the battle at Brooklyn bridge.
The world was falling. The sky covered in smoke. And Peter was falling. He'd felt the webline as it snapped and tore in two. And down he went. Falling, falling forever. Finally he hit the ground on his shoulder. Oh that hurt. Ash and dust was choking him now. Was his costume torn too? He opened his eyes and saw the world around him. Everything was now on fire. Where was Gwen? Where'd she go? Peter sat up and pulled himself to his feet. He was Spider-Man now. And there was a job to do. So He stooped along the edge of the street and somehow managed to keep moving. He just had to try not to think about throwing up.
Simply put, the city was ruined. Remains of pumpkin bomb bits scattered around empty car husks. Buildings burned. And sirens screamed at every corner and yet from no where. And there was that laugh. That haunting manic laugh. It was leading Peter in a direction. He knew that much. It would take him right back to the old bridge. A monster waited there. It had choice for him.
So Spider-Man reloaded his cartridges. He said his silent prayers. The growing silence gnawed on him. Was he going to lose someone tonight? It was an unanswered question every good hero faced at least once. The laugh was growing louder now. He was getting close. Peter strung web line to make a way up to the bridge. Every once in a while, though his Spidey Sense would ring. Someone was watching him from behind with ill intent. Yet, there was nothing here. It was an empty city with just the flame. The Goblin waited at the bridge.
