At least she tried. Supporting her head on her hands, she continued to follow the rest of what Tony was saying, humming in understanding where it was appropriate. "Can't argue with that," she murmured, slowly shaking her head. It didn't get much more valid than that, did it? Rubbing the back of her neck, she drew in a heavy breath and sighed, eyes fixed on her coffee mug. She closed her eyes. "Alright, I'll do it," she said after a long pause, leaning back against her chair, the corner of her mouth pinched in a tired, but truthful, smile.
Subsequently, Jessica lowered her gaze and chuckled privately without the intent of sharing what she was thinking until the last second before it wouldn’t matter. “Just, when he's on the team...” and she raised her glance again, “don’t compare me to him, got it?” Not that it was a big deal, or that she suspected he would but-- “I get that enough already and it can be frustrating.”
