The information hurried Cassie along and, when the trio edged into the abandoned station it was to find that Daisy's assumption was mostly right. It was on the move and it wasn't so much singular as plural, as in a herd of scaly little lizard monsters whose collective roars sounded a lot worse amplified by the echoing of subway tunnels and which seemed a lot scarier in the darkness. In the beam of the flashlight Cassie had dug from her bag, the four foot tall creatures lumbering around on their hind legs seemed more weird than they did frightening.
"Um-" Cassie mumbled when she realized one of the things nearby was wearing what appeared to be a hat. Actually, a lot of them seemed to have scraps of clothes hanging off of them. As far as she knew, fashion wasn't usually a high priority for monsters and this, probably, answered the question of where all the people in the subway station were. Now, of course, it was a question of how all the people ended up turned into little monsters and what exactly it might accomplish.
