This girl wasn't as easy to read as Billy, but that was already a massive point in her favour. Not that this prompted Daisy to feel any more optimistic about the day, but she was going to keep a running tally. Spotting Cassie only made her lean back in her seat with her arms hooked over the back, not exactly enthusiastic but open to anything that might come her way, and offered Kate a casual salute at their introduction.
"I am very hard to surprise," Daisy assured Kate, not exactly welcoming a landslide of all the sticky details of her fucked up life, but maintaining that open neutrality. The other two girls already spoke about the universe flipping incident so casually that they must have had this conversation before with enough people and it made the whole thing seem less fucking creepy. She pointed an accusatory finger at Cassie, though, saying, "You fucking knew you had friends here," for her to explain forgetting all about Kate. Was Kate the shitty friend that was convenient to forget about, and Cassie was trying to pass her off to Daisy so she didn't have to put up with Kate as much? Daisy wasn't going to take that easily.
