Tony got the smile he’d been hoping for as Wanda examined the gift, grateful and surprised. “It’s beautiful, Tony, thank you,” she said and motioned for him to clasp it for her, lifting her hair and staring up at the dark form of a shark gliding overhead.
When the necklace was fastened she offered Tony another kiss by way of thanks, uninterrupted this time any aquatic distractions. It was nice having someone to kiss. There had been surprisingly few options in Malibu so far, an unfortunate result of their head-quarter's relative seclusion and the interruption of her Avengers Identicard every time there was a giant monster or whenever Clint thought they needed to be involved in an urban shoot out. And of course she'd missed presents; shopping for herself just wasn't quite the same as receiving arbitrary and expensive gifts.
Her smile remained in place as they continued their stroll and this time she wasn't thinking about the size of the tunnel or how much water was above them. Eventually she ventured a question, picking up the thread of the conversation that ended when he'd presented her gift. "How are things here?" She glanced at him and, before he could think she was trying to pry again, added, "With the team?"
