Avoiding eye contact and looking busy were invaluable tools when lingering impatiently rather than being the last to arrive. Tony much preferred making somebody else go through it than have to shift subtly every time someone made a move to get within his line of sight. Just as Wanda arrived, he was calculating how much longer it was taking him to tap out a letter on his cellphone's keyboard than it would have to use Extremis, averaging at a generous 15% output without factoring Extremis' multitasking capabilities. It was something of a surprise when Wanda appeared, and she kissed a startled smile.
"Wanda," he returned warmly when he had recovered from her greeting, hand that had hesitantly hovered landing on her hip in a hug. As he slipped his phone back into his pocket, he moved the kiss to her forehead then stroked his knuckles along her jaw apologetically. She was paler than she should have been for living at the beach and it was a long way for her to come on short notice. "I should have gone to you," he noted guiltily. It was his damage, anyway, he didn't have to make her pay for it.
