Stature did her best to hold the man steady through his beating and by the time Spider-Man was finished she actually felt a little bad for the guy. Bet he hadn't expected to be accosted by a kid in a spider suit and a giant girl. Well, just went to show, that crime never paid.
While Spider-Man webbed him up, Cassie shrank down to her normal height and pulled off her domino mask. Instead of a traditional "you're welcome" in reply to what Peter said, or any other proper kind of greeting, what he got was a punch to the shoulder.
"So, what, does your phone not work?" she asked, putting a hand on her hip and trying to appear belligerent even though a smile was tugging at the corner of her lips. It had been over a year since she'd last seen him, when his Aunt took him to Boston. They'd always meant to get together on weekends but something always came up and, even though they'd kept in touch through text and email, it had started to taper off in more recent months. Still, that was no excuse for him not even telling her he was back in town.
