"Oh," was Kate's response, keeping an air of neutrality around her while she let the news settle. Once they reached the common room, she set all her things down and sat next to him with one leg tucked beneath her, lips pressed together in thought as she stared down at the cushion. So they were splitting off to cover more bases; it made sense. What surprised her more was his comment--Clint had just acknowledged her as a Hawkeye, which was a relief because a piece of her had worried about her legitimacy here in this universe since the two ran into each other that night. Obviously he wouldn't have gone through all this trouble if he hadn't accepted her at least a little, but it was good to get his outward approval. Kate swept some hair behind her ear and smirked.
"Gee, that's a lot of pressure, Barton," she remarked. "Good thing I work well under it." Leaning into the backrest, Kate played around with her necklace, smiling faintly as she asked, "When are you leaving?"
