"I got no fight with you, Giant Girl," the man insisted, "so just back off." Still holding Iron Man with one hand, he raised the other where a second whip gave a threatening crackle. He wasn't ready to be jerked off balance by that damn shield bouncing off of his tether and stumbled a step on his board before shuttling higher and tugging Iron Man with him in annoyance.
The whip around Iron Man's arm gave another pulse, and Iron Man reached blindly with his free hand to grab at it and try to pull himself free, but his vision was swimming and his HUD seemed overbright and blinding. His repulsor nodes, too, were reacting to the input, and none more bright than the one over his heart which Tony thought was actually closer to his throat than his chest then. It was only with a valiant and entirely desperate tug that he dragged the guy (whip, Whiplash, Backlash-- either one-- wasn't he dead? Didn't I-- I killed him) off balance again, and was only succeeded in being punished for it. Right then, Iron Man didn't seem to mind. He went kind of limp, letting the whip pull cruelly on his arm, and his shining repulors all simultaneously went dead. With them went the suit, retracting slowly in a steady drip, from the top of his head and tips of his fingers into his core.
