Steve's bewildered entrance earned him an equally bewildered, lopsided smile from Tony over Cassie's shoulder before Tony hid it in her hair, still reeling a little from her shriek. It was just a car. As Cassie enthused and Steve approached and Tony got that ominous feeling all over again, only this time it was even harder to source, he unconsciously and methodically smoothed his shirt and shrugged to hang his jacket straight. "It's standard, actually," he answered, though he was sure no one was listening and murmured it in a low enough voice to suggest he didn't mind. He could replace it and keep this one for himself if she didn't take to it, but it would be something of a disappointment.
At Steve's whispered incredulity, again Tony returned the sentiment, shrugging without a clear idea on how he was supposed to respond to that. Steve had been the one so keen to remind Tony that her birthday was coming up and he really needed to get her a gift. "Don't sweat it, dude. You have a birthday this year, too, right?" he tried, draping an arm around Steve's shoulders and giving him a squeeze. Tony would get him anything he asked for.
