Gambit could only feel Sinister's fingers threading through his hair and moving it out of the way. The whirl of moving electric motors could be heard from somewhere above and behind him. Then the cold chill of metal against the back of his neck, a startling contrast to the warmth of plastic covered fingers resting just behind his ear. The cold steel moved slowly up his neck and along the line at the back of his head where Sinister had first cut him open so long ago. It felt like ages since he had Remy in his lab. Under his knife. Squirming in nervous dread at what he might do to him. The doctor felt almost nostalgic. The cold steel stopped for a long moment, warming slowly with the contact of Remy's skin.
Rogue was in a position to see Sinister's face relax as he gazed at a screen, numbers and words flashing over images. For a moment the doctor looked almost human... almost as though he actually cared... pure relief gripping his features before he schooled them once more and removed the steel monitor from the boy.
He replaced it with the machine that looked like it should go around a person's head. And indeed it did. The doctor came around in front of Remy, those gloved hands running over his forehead to pulled the contraption down.
"You should probably close your eyes now." It was the only warning the boy was likely to receive.
