Through out most of the conversation between Danny and the weirdo samurai girl, Clint had one thought inside his head. That one thought was what the fuck was this shit? Wanda and Clint stood by awkwardly as Danny engaged in a one on one conversation with an apparent dominatrix. Barton glanced over at Wanda and raised one eyebrow and then even shrugged if that was not enough. I mean, really what the fuck was this shit? What was this lady even doing here? Traveling around performing kungfu for copper pieces like they did in the movies? At any minuet Clint half expecting some Jackie Chan fucker to come whirling out of the caravan at them. But nothing of the sort happened. Instead, the Scarlet Witch and Hawkeye twiddled their thumbs while Ironfist and Princess Wootong awkwardly discussed things about their personal life loud enough for everyone to hear.
This kind of crap shouldn't surprise Hawkeye. It really shouldn't. Just look at who his team mate was. A guy running around in a yellow bandana crying about some lost china deal with iron fists and Bruce Lee and dragons. The sort of company someone like that keeps has to be nothing short of nut jobs with samurai swords. Clint was sure it was all very impressive back in the land Xangchi, but in the western world people talked straight. He had no idea what had happened, other than that it may have been a complete waste of time. Whatever. The freak show could keep on truckin for all Barton cared. What Rand did in his down time was his business. Still, in the nature of team spirit and all that Barton felt the need to at least say something to ease the awkward. "So.. Ex-Girlfriend?"
In the meantime, The Scarlet Witch's answer to Iron Fist's question brought him back to the present. Right, they had work to do. Barton scuttled off on his own bike to catch up with Wanda who seemed if possible more annoyed at the situation than he did. What he found as he caught up to her was an old dumpy looking temple with lots of ruins surrounding the joint. Great. Well, best to look around if he was going to find any signs of what was going on.
He sort of decided off hand to split up with the team and try to cover more ground. So with that in mind he made his way over to the first thing that caught his eye. It was the old masks. The artistry of them had a slightly unnerving quality to them that seemed to draw his attention rather than force it else ware. He stared deeply into one mask in particular for a few seconds. It almost entranced him with it's expression of bizarre judgement. It was then that he noticed there were actual people here. They looked like they were maintaining the masks. "Uh, Hi. Any of you guys speak English?"
