"Sorry, I'm not trying to scare you off. But even Yoda got serious sometimes, right?" Danny's face softened as he eased up a little. "This is what real Kung Fu is. In the past I've made the mistake of taking my responsibilities as a teacher too lightly, and I lost my school as a result. I don't intend to fail as a teacher again."
Danny held up two fingers. "So if I teach you, we'll have two distinct relationships. There's Danny Rand out here" he said, motioning at the restaurant around them "who's your boss and a little bit crazy, and occasionally an airhead," he said smiling genuinely "-and then there's Daniel Rand-kai in the Dojo. The guy who punched buckets of gravel every morning from age 11." He raised an eyebrow. "I'll be your teacher. Your Sifu. And your Sifu won't hold your hand or play nice. I'll treat you like an adult- because I'll expect you to behave as one." Danny said earnestly, clearly issuing a challenge. Danny shrugged, slumping back in his chair "But if you don't think you have it in you I understand..."
Danny's watch beeped, and he held it up. "Okay, I've got a training session with the Avengers coming up." He pulled on his coat, standing up. "Whatever you order is on me, I made you come all the way out here in the rain, its the least I can do." Danny put his scroll and notebook back in his bag, talking to Cassie as he did. "I'm in the Avengers gym every morning from 5am-7am, and every evening from 5pm-9pm. More on weekends. You want me to teach you, stop by with your game face on" he said, with a smirk. "Until next time, Miss Lang" he said with a slight bow, then he strolled out to his next appointment.
