character: Jessica Drew, Peter Parker
setting: An evening in New York
content: Nothing bad. Shit might get real.
summary: Jessica's on a Hydra assignment and Peter's kind of a stalker.
There was nothing much different from the way she was then and the way she was forced to be now--the only distinguishing factor was the fancy chip in her head, designed with such precision that she would not have a single defiant fiber in her body. She wasn't programmed to question her objectives. To question anything. At least back then she could do things her way, now it was like every move was controlled by a couple of strings. Viper must've had her on probation still-in spite of the assurance the chip provided, maybe she was wary about putting her entire trust into the woman who tried to rip her head off. If Jessica had to make a guess.
The gist of her job was to do the dirty work and still manage to keep her hands clean. Slip in and out, deliver, and wait for the next task. Today's task was particularly simple, so much that it was excruciating. The growl of her motorcycle grew louder as Drew picked up speed and lashed through the city traffic with a good enough distance behind her target. When he turned, she turned, until he pulled over onto the curb and stepped out in front of a beaten down apartment complex. By then, Jessica was parked on the other side, eyes zooming in for a full face evaluation. That was her mark. He had something Viper wanted and Jessica had to get it.
And deliver a nice little message while she was at it.
"Like I'm a fucking errand boy," she snorted. What? She couldn't defy her, but Jessica could sure as hell talk crap if she wanted. They could give her that much. The second he made a move into the building, she smirked and took that as her cue and began crossing the street, set on accomplishment tonight.
